REALLY BAD, DEPRESSING POETRY

SUMMER   (Attributed to Red Green)

In summer
The days grow long

Relatives come to visit
The days grow longer

They bring Mom
Infinity

AUTUMN
Maples turn bloody red then brown
October finally ends
Freddie the Leaf is dead and down
So are all of his friends

WINTER
As I walked out in the streets of Oswego
Three feet of snowflakes were slowing the way
Then I spied an old lady wrapped up in white linen
She had shovelled her driveway
Now she lay cold as the day

So beat the drum slowly, but no fife will play lowly
The guy with the fife hasn't learned how to play
A kazoo toots the death march
As we go, through the streets of Oswego
On this gray wintry day

SPRING
   (An American Folk-Poem, author unknown)
As I awoke one mornin'
The day was bright and still
And there sat a robin
Upon my windowsill
The song he sang was oh so gay
As he ushered in the brand new day
But in a moment's lull ...
I gently closed the window ...
And crushed his little skull
